Grace Connors is an instructor for the D-Lab class Design for Scale. She is a third-year graduate student in the Department of Mechanical Engineering working in the GEAR Lab with Professor Amos Winter. Her research is in the design and control of renewable energy solar desalination systems specifically for emerging markets.
Prior to her work in graduate school, Grace received a bachelor of science from MIT in Mechanical Engineering (2016). As an undergraduate, she took five D-Lab classes (Development, Mobility, Design, DforS, and WASH), and was able to travel to both Indonesia and Ghana with D-Lab. After graduating, Grace worked at Sandymount Technologies as the Commercial Engineering Director where she commercialized equipment to reduce the carbon footprint of shipping beverages.
Outside of MIT, Grace is an avid cyclist and hiker.
