Job Description 

PROGRAM MANAGER, PRACTICAL IMPACT ALLIANCE (PIA), MIT D-Lab, to manage and grow the PIA network, coordinate member activities, and strengthen engagement with MIT’s international development ecosystem. Responsibilities include developing a strategic plan and associated activities; leading member prospection and recruitment; serving as the main point of contact about PIA activities and other engagement opportunities with D-Lab and other relevant MIT programs; coordinating PIA working groups’ formation and implementation; managing the planning and execution of the two primary PIA annual events, including coordinating planning committees, identifying/recruiting speakers/guests, budget management, and logistical oversight; developing and implementing a communication strategy to support member recruitment and engagement and the program’s visibility and reputation; and leading collaboration with other MIT programs.  

PIA is a network of corporations, international NGOs and social ventures focused on fostering collaborative action and shared learning around market-driven solutions to global poverty issues.

Job Requirements 

REQUIRED:  bachelor’s degree, preferably in business, humanities, and international relations; at least five years’ work experience including a minimum of three in program management including functions involving human networks management; international development experience and/or work experience in cross-cultural environments including developing countries; experience organizing large knowledge-focused events/trainings; strong interpersonal, writing, organizational, multitasking, project management, and time-management skills; experience coordinating cross-functional teams; ease with in-person and virtual communication; proficiency with Microsoft Office and social media tools and ability to produce highly designed documents; and ability to work independently, as part of teams, and with remote stakeholders. Ability to communicate in multiple languages highly desirable, particularly French and/or Spanish.  Master’s degree or higher, experience within large businesses or international NGOs, and the ability to address large audiences preferred. Salary range:  $61 - 75,000

Travel: Must be able to travel up to 20% of the time.
