Juliana Miranda Mitkiewicz
Juliana Miranda Mitkiewicz is a PhD Student in Sustainable Energy Systems in the MIT Portugal Program. She has been working on the development of a small-scale solar-biogas hybrid energy system that simultaneously serves the energy needs of small communities while providing a solution for sewage and organic waste. She is part of the D-Lab Practical Impact Alliance business curriculum working group and is working on a D-Lab Biomass Fuels and Cookstoves Group project in Uganda, and on a D-Lab Inclusive Waste Management project in Nicaragua. She holds a degree in Environmental Engineering from Federal University of Ouro Preto, Brazil where she started working with Climate Change and entrepreneurship, her dual passions. Juliana loves volunteer work as well as dancing and traveling. She is a member of the MOVE, an NGO that fights poverty through entrepreneurship in the developing world. Juliana is always interested and excited to discuss and exchange ideas about climate justice and social entrepreneurship!
