Emily is a co-instructor of the D-Lab class Design for Scale. She brings to her teaching experience in human-centered design, product development, and sustainable social enterprise development.
Her first experience at D-Lab was in 2016 when she took the class D-Lab: Design, and started working with a team of students on an ambulance project in partnership with an NGO in Tanzania. That class project grew into Moving Health (formerly The Okoa Project), a nonprofit she co-founded and for which she currently serves as CEO. Moving Health works with communities around the world to build ambulances in areas where emergency transportation systems are needed.
Emily holds a bachelor of science degree from MIT in Mechanical Engineering, with a concentration on global product development. Outside of work and teaching, Emily loves to paint, hike, and play volleyball.
