Lauren Bustamante

Lauren graduated from the University of New Mexico in 2015 with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. She is now pursuing her master's at MIT and is a member of the D-Lab Biomass Fuel & Cookstoves group. Lauren's thesis work consists of evaluating the performance, affordability, and usability of a locally-made improved cookstove. During IAP of 2016 Lauren traveled to Peru through D-Lab: Development and is now serving as the TA for the course as well as a co-leader for the 2017 Uganda trip. Lauren's hobbies include running, knitting, and photography.
