Using innovative and proven best-practice models to create curriculum and implement instruction about design thinking, science, engineering, global learning, community activism, and more.
Spring 2021 Class Delivery Format
This class will be fully virtual in Spring 2021.
Centered on the design process, this course provides an overview of pedagogical theories and teaching skills that will allow students to craft their own K-12 curriculum. Together, we will explore the history of colonialism in international development to emphasize equitable solutions.
Partnering with an international school or organization, student groups will incorporate aspects of critical pedagogy, community activism, and project-based curriculum into a final project that nurtures creativity in youth.
Local fieldwork required throughout the semester and international fieldwork may be available in the summer.
This is suitable for students with varying levels of teaching experience. Students taking graduate version complete additional assignments.
Enrollment limited to 10 and requires permission of the instructor.
