Desde el nacimiento e implementación del primer IDDS en 2007 y después de haber sido implementado en países como Ghana, Colombia, Guatemala, EUA, Botswana, India, Brasil, y muchos otros, por primera vez se llevará a cabo en México.  

El IDDS Oaxaca 2025 es un evento que se llevará a cabo del 29 de julio al 13 de agosto 2025 en la comunidad de Santa María Tlahuitoltepec, en la región de la Sierra Mixe del Estado de Oaxaca, México. Esta cumbre tiene como objetivo co-diseñar tecnologías que den solución a distintas problemáticas en la comunidad relacionadas con acceso al agua, saneamiento, agricultura, conservación, saneamiento y equidad de género.

Esta cumbre está planificada para ser una experiencia de 2 semanas y convocará a un total de 35 participantes internacionales, nacionales y locales que trabajarán durante el IDDS en equipos para crear 7 nuevos proyectos de innovación basados en tecnología local.

La fecha límite para aplicar es el 28 de febrero de 2025 a las 11:59 hora de la Ciudad de México. Los participantes seleccionados serán notificados el 7 de marzo.

Since the first International Design Development Summit (IDDS) in 2007, and after having been implemented in 14 countries to date, the IDDS will take place for the first time in Mexico.

The IDDS is an intensive design summit that brings people together from diverse backgrounds all around the world to co-create technology and business solutions that improve the lives of vulnerable communities. It is part of a global movement that seeks to promote innovation and the development of technologies focused on the needs of the most disadvantaged people.

IDDS Ayuujk 2025 will be a 16-day experience that will take place in the community of Santa María Tlahuitoltepec in the State of Oaxaca, Mexico. Tlahuitoltepec is a municipality located in the Mixe mountains, in the north of the State, 2.5 hours from Oaxaca City.

This summer, from July 29 to August 13, 2025, the community will host a total of 35 local, national and international participants, who will work together in the development of 7 projects based on local technology that will help improve the livelihoods of the community.

  • Organizer travel: Organizers will be expected to be there from July 19 to August 15

Organizers

Centro Oaxaqueño de Innovación OAXIN

The Oaxacan Innovation Center OAXIN is a non-governmental organization whose mission is to share inclusive and collaborative innovation practices that promote social and economic justice in the region. It was founded in 2019 after the implementation of various community interventions in four communities in Oaxaca by a diverse group of local actors.

CIINDER KUKOJ

Kukoj S.C is a local organization located in Tlahuitoltepec that provides technical advice to farmers in the Mixe mountains. For more than 15 years Kukoj has accompanied the Mixe populations in the implementation of agroecological processes, improvement of production processes, strengthening of value chains, research and implementation of programs for the care and sustainable use of ecosystems, in addition to being considered a important local actor for decision-making in the region.

International Development Innovation Network

IDIN is an international community of change agents who support innovators, entrepreneurs and entrepreneurs from around the world to design, prototype and disseminate technologies that improve the quality of life of people living in poverty. Composed of more than 1,000 members, all the network's innovators share one experience, attending an IDDS.
